Therapeutic Approach

  • I work in a primarily cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) paradigm understanding that one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interwoven.  Only through shifting one's thoughts/feelings/behaviors can one start to change these patterns and identify the maladaptive thoughts that keep the patterns in place.  I work collaboratively with children/adolescents and their parents as well as with adults to alter these faulty thinking patterns and create change.  I think of therapy as a means of bolstering and fortifying one's coping strategies so that when novel situations arise, these strategies can be readily implemented and applied.

  • Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach.  Your individual/family's needs are vital in determining the best therapeutic approach.  No one solution works for all.  Together, we will embark on the journey of self-actualization to help you reach your goals.
